The American Association of Grant Professionals (AAGP), a nonprofit membership association, builds and supports an international community of grant professionals committed to serving the greater public good by practicing the highest ethical and professional standards. To achieve this mission, AAGP:

  • Serves as a leading authority and resource for the practice of grantsmanship in all sectors of the field.

  • Advances the field by promoting professional growth and development.

  • Enhances the public image and recognition of the profession within the greater philanthropic, public, and private funding communities.

  • Promotes positive relationships between grant professionals and their stakeholders.

AAGP values, embraces, and supports the rich diversity within the grant profession.

2008 Events


March 14, 2008-  Beyond Email Workshop presented by Katie Krueger, Grant Writer/Resource Development Manager for the Sun Prarie Area School District

February 8, 2008-  Knowledge needed for the Grant Professionals Certification Institute (GPCI) Test Workshop.

March 14, 2008 at North Park University- "Beyond Email: How Online Tools Can Improve Communication from the Grants Office" presented by Katie Krueger, Grant Writer/Resource Development Manager for the Sun Prairie Area School District.


May 30, 2008-  AAGP Midwest Regional Conference (hosted by Chicago Area Chapter).  The GPCI test will be administered on May 31, 2008 following the conference.  For additional information, please email regionalconference@aagpil.org.

September 19, 2008-  Collaboration and the Grant Application Process Workshop.

About forming chapters: The Illinois Chapter was formed by grant professionals in the Chicago area. As the first chapter, it is called the state chapter. More chapters may form in other areas, as grant professionals indicate interest.
